Closing and saving stories
When a story has been assigned to a page in InCopy, it must be 'checked out' in order for changes to be made and 'checked in' before it is closed so that someone else can check it out. The Save and Close icon in Falcon saves the story, but does not check it in.
The easiest way to make sure a story has been checked in is to close it in InCopy, not in Falcon.
The easiest way to make sure a story has been checked in is to close it in InCopy, not in Falcon.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner of the story window (not the InCopy application window, which will close InCopy).
- A warning box will ask you if you want to save changes, click Yes.
- Another box will pop up, telling you that the story has not been checked in, click Yes.
